Michael Bricker is a visionary leader with a passion for animal welfare, boasting over 15 years of experience at the helm of various animal shelters. Throughout his tenure, he has dedicated himself to building robust foundational programs, piloting innovative initiatives, and fostering a culture of compassion and excellence. Michael’s transformative leadership style has turned underperforming organizations into lifesaving powerhouses, leaving an indelible mark on the communities he serves.

 

Currently, Michael serves as the Chief of Animal Care and Protective Services (ACPS) in Jacksonville, Florida, where his leadership has been instrumental in enhancing services and improving outcomes for both animals and the community. With a track record of leading teams of over 100 employees and managing animal intake exceeding 34,000, Michael is a driving force in the pursuit of a brighter future for people and animals everywhere.

 

Throughout his career, Michael has been involved in a variety of initiatives, from partnering and working for national non-profits to supporting community driven local grassroots efforts. He is also deeply engaged in national conversations around animal welfare, having spoken at animal welfare conferences and summits and consulting with individuals and organizations all over the country.

 

In addition to his work in Jacksonville, Michael is available for animal shelter operational and leadership consulting, speaking engagements, staff training sessions, and more. His approach focuses on innovative solutions, effective leadership, and compassionate care for animals. When he’s not at the shelter, Michael enjoys spending time with his family and of course his pets, especially his 2-year-old Pitbull, Mando. He is an advocate for community-based solutions to animal welfare and continually seeks ways to make a difference, both in his hometown and beyond.
